1st South African Open (1974)

The 1st Men’s South African Open began 50 years ago in August 1974. See the programme welcome, draw and results here. Australians won the first 12, with Geoff Hunt winning 8 (1974-81), with the next winners being Dean Williams (82), Ross Thorne (83), Chris Dittmar (84/85), before it was suspended after 1995.
