When Sheffield’s Abbeydale Park and Hallamshire clubs hosted the World Masters 1999, the championship programme outlined their histories from Abbeydale’s opening in 1934, and courts added at Hallamshire in 1970. Abbeydale was the home for the British Open 1972-4, the British Nationals later that decade, and they jointly hosted the British Junior Open.
