Jahangir beats Awad in 165 minutes

On 30 March 1983 Jahangir Khan beat Gamal Awad in a then world record 165 minutes – for only four games!


The event was the final of the Chichester Festival in England, and saw Egyptian Awad trying to outlast his opponent, at that point unbeaten for two years.


Here is the following morning’s Times Newspaper report by top squash journalist Richard Eaton, together with the marker’s score-sheet (which muddled up the hours!).
